With Tim Ferguson
We had the pleasure of creating the animated main title sequence and associated broadcast motion graphics for the new Channel 31 show With Tim Ferguson.
This was a dream brief for us. The producers gave us the freedom to create what we wanted. (We know, crazy!) The show was pitched as a no holds barred take on politics and spin with Australian comedy legend Tim Ferguson at the helm. The concept for the titles came quite easily based on that - why not have a series of animated vignettes where Tim acts out violently towards political figures? Who doesn’t want to see that? We pitched the idea, and the producers loved it.
Titles
In addition to the animated vignettes we used the Australian flag (and it's red, white and blue colour palette) to tie the graphic elements together. The final title card element of the main title was repeated for segment titles and ad bumpers, and the flag elements were re-used for the lower third.
Staging Backgrounds
In addition to the main titles, we also created three motion graphics backgrounds that are used throughout the show. The Australian flag and colour palette were used again, but as Season 1 was focused on the Victorian state election we brought in Victorian state iconography and visual references.
